Here I Am!

I'm back in Wyoming. It's surreal.

I live on a ranch. An honest-to-God ranch with a name, and horses, and a peacock. A peacock! On the ranch! Luckily, it's their friends' ranch, and they (well, we, I guess) live on an acre or so of it, so it's not like I'm getting up at 4 to take the cows to market or anything like that.

So far, I've visited a few old friends, my old college, my old RA advisor. Most of the people I know immediately exclaim over my hair, which is a good foot longer than it was the last time I was here. It's kind of lame, I know, but even though having hair down to my waist is a total pain in the ass to style, it's totally worth it when people are like, wait, when did you have time to grow all that hair?

Gabe's parents have been so generous to us, and they are excellent cooks. I can't remember the last time I even ate asparagus, and such good asparagus! There is excellent asparagus to be had on the ranch. And they always have things like paper towels, shampoo, and internet, so they're already one-up on anything I had in Colorado. I was getting pretty sick of never having any money, and having to make the Sophie's choice of either washing my hair with soap or just skipping a day. Did I tell you that when your hair is two feet long, it tends to start collecting debris and get all greasy? Like I said, total pain in the ass.

This morning, I woke up late and realized that I have the phrase "poop is a palindrome" written on my stomach in permanent marker. I think I may have gotten a little drunk last night.

Is it at least in your handwriting?

Yeah, it was totally me who wrote that. I was obsessed with palindromes as a kid.
